Riot Games VCT Americas ‘All Eyes On Us’

Riot Games needed a campaign for the 2023 Valorant Champions Tour season with the specific request to bring maturity to the concept. Their fan base has gotten older, and they need their brand to grow with them.

To emphasize their power without playing into typical esports tropes, the Ophelia team opted for larger-than-life portraits of key regional VCT superstars, depicting them as towering giants against the backdrop of their native landscapes.

Ophelia set up back-to-back productions in São Paulo and Los Angeles to capture the champions as they flew back and forth from tournaments. To ensure all coverage was captured, body doubles, digital clothing simulations, and robotic arms were used to keep the look consistent across continents. Once delivered, the total asset count reached over one hundred assets catering to each locality, aspect ratio, frame rate, and platform.

We also developed a suite of custom social assets that spotlighted each team, in addition to animated bumpers that added a dynamic visual layer to the live broadcast and event experience.
